Punta Mita, México
A 1,500-acre private peninsula on the northern tip of Banderas Bay, Punta Mita is wrapped by nearly ten miles of Pacific coastline — home to two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, the Four Seasons and St. Regis resorts, and some of the finest private villas in México. This is our home turf; here's what we tell friends before their first visit.
Getting There
Fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), served nonstop from most major US and Canadian hubs. From the airport it's a scenic 45-minute drive up the Riviera Nayarit coast to the Punta Mita gates.
We arrange private airport transfers for every stay — your driver meets you at arrivals, the villa is chilled, and the kitchen can be stocked before you walk in. Traveling with a large group? Ask us about van and multi-car transfers when you inquire.
The Peninsula
Inside the gates, Punta Mita is organized into residential communities, each with its own setting: fairway condos above the golf courses, surf-side residences at El Anclote, clifftop estates over hidden coves. Guests in most of our villas enjoy club privileges — beach clubs, tennis, fitness and preferred golf access — through the home's membership.

Beaches
The peninsula's coves range from glassy and family-friendly to genuine surf breaks. El Anclote is the classic: a long, gentle beach fronting the village, ideal for first surf lessons and sunset dinners. La Lancha, just outside the gates, is a jungle-backed crescent with one of the coast's most consistent, forgiving waves. Inside the resort, residents' beach clubs put daybeds and service on the sand.
A short boat ride offshore, the protected Marietas Islands offer snorkeling, wildlife and the famous Hidden Beach — we arrange permitted tours through our Surf & Ocean experiences.
When to Visit
November through April is the dry season: sunny days in the 80s°F, cool evenings, calm seas — and humpback whales in the bay from December to March. It's also peak demand; the best villas book 6–12 months ahead for Christmas and Easter weeks.
May through October is warm, lush green season — afternoon showers roll through and clear, the crowds thin, and nightly rates drop meaningfully (our low-season rates are often 25–40% below winter pricing). Surfers favor these months for the south swells.
Beyond the Gates
Fifteen minutes north, Sayulita buzzes with surf shops, galleries and taquerías; its quieter sibling San Pancho is ten minutes further. The fishing village of Punta de Mita town sits right at the gates — morning fish markets, panga captains and beachfront ceviche.
